The protection of personal data is of utmost importance for BASF SE (herein after referred to as “we”). In the following, we would like to inform you about the use of your personal data if you subscribe for Newsletter Regional Advice. If you register for Newsletter Regional Advice we collect, the personal data we have asked for in the registration form. We collect this personal data directly from You, when You register for Newsletter Regional Advice. Your IP Address will be stored when You visit our Website. What is the purpose and the legitimization for such processing of Your personal data? With the Newsletter Regional Advice BASF informs you about the products and services offered by BASF in the field of Crop Protection as well as – as the case may be – about product registrations or information on events. If you register for Newsletter Regional Advice we collect, store and use Your personal data only for the purpose of providing you the newsletter(s) via the communication channel you subscribed for. Moreover, we store your IP address in order to be able to prove your consent. The legitimization of such processing of Your personal data is the consent You grant during the registration, according to article 6 section 1 (a) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who will receive Your personal data?

Within our company we will disclose Your personal data only to those employees who will participate in providing the Newsletter Regional Advice Service to You and only to the extend necessary to provide this service. In addition, we use Inxmail, a service of Inxmail GmbH, Wentzingerstr. 17, 79106 Freiburg/GERMANY (in the following “Inxmail”) for sending You the newsletter. By subscribing to one or more of our e-mail newsletter only your email address provided at the registration is being transferred to, and stored at, the Inxmail server, located in Germany. After registration for the e-mail newsletter you receive an email from BASF to confirm your membership in the email list. On our behalf and according to our instructions Inxmail stores and uses your email address for sending of the newsletter only. After registration for newsletters via SMS you receive a SMS to confirm your membership in the SMS list.

How long do we store Your personal data?

We will store Your personal data necessary to provide You the Newsletter Regional Advice service as long as you want to receive such services from us. At the bottom of each e-mail newsletter you will find a hyperlink via which you may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. You may also unsubscribe from receiving the Newsletter Regional Advice at any time via a message to our email or postal address as mentioned above. If you withdraw your consent by unsubscribing, this does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. You may choose to unsubscribe from all or from one way of receiving the Newsletter Regional Advice. When you unsubscribe from the Newsletter Regional Advice the personal data which have been retained to make available the newsletter to you will be deleted, provided such deletion does not contradict to a statutory data retention requirement. If you do not confirm your registration for e-mail or SMS newsletter (see above) we delete the respective data after 24 hours from your receipt of the confirmation mail or SMS.

What are Your data protection rights?

You have the right to obtain from us information as to whether or not personal data concerning You is being processed and information regarding such personal data stored by us. For details please refer to Article 15 of the GDPR. You can ask us to rectify inaccurate personal data concerning You as well as the erasure of all personal data we have stored concerning You. For details please refer to Article 16 and 17 of the GDPR. In addition You have the right to restrict and to object to the processing of Your personal data according to Articles 18 and 21 of the GDPR as well as the right to receive the personal data we have stored concerning You according to Article 20 of the GDPR. According to Art. 21 (1) GDPR, the data subject shall also have the right to object, on grounds relating to his or her particular situation, at any time to processing of personal data concerning him or her which is based on point (e) or (f) of Art. 6 (1) GDPR including profiling based on those provisions. BASF shall comply with the aforementioned requests if and to the extent such compliance is required by the applicable statutory laws. Where personal data are processed for direct marketing purposes, according to Art. 21 (2) GDPR, the data subject shall have the right to object at any time to processing of personal data concerning him or her for such marketing, which includes profiling to the extent that it is related to such direct marketing.
